Paul B. Aldinger, Ph.D., P.E.



Paul B. Aldinger, Ph.D., P.E. began his over 40 year career working during college for a geotechnical and structural engineering firm in Vermont as well as state DOT agencies in Vermont and California. Following graduation and a tour in the Civil Engineering Corps of the U.S. Navy, he returned to school to obtain an MSCE degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Vermont. He then joined Maguire Group, Inc., an A.E.P. firm, in Providence, Rhode Island and Foxboro, Massachusetts working in the geotechnical engineering department. He worked his way up to become the department manager while also obtaining a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering.


Dr. Aldinger founded the PBA firm in 1990 and has developed the firm into a team of ten professionals. Dr. Aldinger is President and Chief Engineer of the firm and is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the firm’s operation. Dr. Aldinger concentrates his practice in the geotechnical and geohydrological engineering area where the firm works and has worked on projects for both public and private Clients which range in size, duration and scope.


Dr. Aldinger is a registered professional engineer in Rhode Island and several other states. Dr. Aldinger has been very active in the Rhode Island engineering community and has served on the board and/or as President of the local chapters of ASCE and NSPE and RICE. Dr. Aldinger received the Young Engineer of the Year and the Engineer of the Year awards presented by the Rhode Island Society of Professional Engineers as well as the Freeman award presented by the Providence Engineering Society for his contributions to the Rhode Island engineering community.
